Will I still be able to rent at the same apartment complex?
I am currently renting an apartment. My lease is up in 60 days, however I am going to be moving into a bigger apartment in the with the same company. When I first got my apartment I got a dog which I wasn’t allowed to have because of breed restriction. Well we no longer have her now but she riped a hole in the carpet. Do you think I will still be able to rent with this company, or will the kick me out for violating the lease? I will pay for the carpet, its only one room and you can tell its not all one piece. I hope they don’t make me replace it all just to be mean. Do you have any suggestions on an excuse for why there is a hole? Its about the size of a dvd case, and the padding is gone too. There is also a large bleach spot, but that was an accident. Thanks!
We didn’t have to pay a security deposit. Also what I mean by its not all one piece is that the dining room is separated from the living room and the living room from the bedroom etc. you can see the separation line very faintly
You don’t need to give a reason and you shouldn’t be replacing it. If it needs replacing they will do it. And yes, they will likely do the whole carpet – it was whole carpet when you moved in (not a patched one) so they’ll likely want it whole (and not patched) when you move out. They’ll use your security deposit to cover the cost, so you’ll need to pay a new one on the new apartment, but other than that they’ll likely be more than happy to keep you on.
